Competition drives Reid on
May 07, 2012
TJ Reid attributed Kilkenny's impressive Allianz Hurling League final victory over Cork to the intense competition for starting places within Brian Cody's squad.
"I'm 24 now and I'm pushing on. I want to be getting a place on the team," the scorer of the Cats' third goal said.
"Brian always tells us that when we get the jersey we have to give 100 per cent so we can hang on to it for the championship. Come championship, places will be up for grabs. You have to be performing well because if you're not you simply won't be on. I have to keep myself right and perform to my abilities.
"Getting on the Kilkenny team isn't easy, but with injuries and retirements, we are getting the chance. When you get that change you have to take it."
