Power's season in doubt

Kilkenny's Richie Power
There are fears that Richie Power could miss the rest of the season after he suffered suspected knee ligament damage in a club game last night.
The star Kilkenny forward was stretchered off in the closing stages of Carrickshock's league victory over James Stephens in Thomastown. Kilkenny manager Brian Cody was among the attendance and will be eagerly awaiting the results of a scan which will ascertain the extent of the damage.
The 26-year-old, who was said to be in considerable distress as he was removed from the pitch, is almost certain to miss next Sunday's Allianz Hurling League final against Cork in Thurles. However, he could be ruled out for the remainder of the season if knee ligament damage is confirmed.
It's the latest injury setback for the All-Ireland champions after another of their forwards, Aidan Fogarty, suffered a broken left wrist in training last week.
