Kilkenny hurling legend DJ Carey is in hospital after suffering a suspected heart attack.

DJ is reported to be in Kilkenny's St Luke's Hospital, having collapsed earlier this afternoon. His condition is described as stable.

The 41-year-old is regarded as one of the greatest hurlers of all time, having won five All-Irelands with the Cats as well as nine All Star awards.

The Young Irelands clubman retired from intercounty hurling in 2006. Tweet
