Kilkenny footballers hit 10-17!

April 19, 2012
Kilkenny's U14 ladies footballers struck a huge blow for the county last weekend.

Football in Kilkenny has come in for a lot of stick in recent months but the amazing scoring achievements of the Black & Amber U14 ladies didn't exactly get any national headlines. At Thomastown on Saturday they chalked up a spectacular 10-17 to 0-2 defeat of Louth in the Leinster league / championship.

Ciara Delaney hit 2-7 for the Kittens, while Caoimhe O'Shea also netted twice. Danielle Morrissey and Allie O'Keeffe were also amongst the goalscorers.

The result leaves Kilkenny in third place on the table as they prepare to face Carlow in their fifth and final qualifying match on April 28th. Victory there would book a place in the Leinster 'B' final in May 13th.
