Shefflin returns to Kilkenny training
April 19, 2012
Henry Shefflin is on course to feature in Kilkenny's opening Leinster SHC defence in June after returning to county training this week.
The eight-time All-Ireland winner, who hasn't missed a championship match since 1999, took part in a non-contact session after spending the past six months on the sideline following shoulder surgery. Shefflin sustained the injury while playing for his club Ballyhale Shamrocks in the Kilkenny SHC.
The 33-year-old hopes to make his return to club action in early May ahead of Kilkenny's Leinster SHC semi-final against Dublin, Carlow or Laois on June 23.
