All-Ireland club JHC SF: St Pat's hold on
January 23, 2012
St Patrick's had to see off a late rally by Ballygar to book their place in the All-Ireland club final after they recorded a 0-17 to 1-10 win.
The Kilkenny and Leinster champions looked set to cruise to victory when they led by ten points early in the second half, but to their credit the Galway side battled back to close the gap to four-points by the final whistle.
St Pat's lead at half time by 0-10 to 0-3 and they stretched their lead at the start of the second half, but Ballygar begun their late rally.
Eric Walsh was to the fore for the Galway men and three close range frees along with a 43rd minute goal brought them right back into contention.
However, points from Geoffrey Brennan, Brian Phelan and Joe Brennan settled St Pat's nerves.
