Brogan and Fennelly win Texaco Awards
December 09, 2011
Alan Brogan has succeeded his brother Bernard as the Texaco Footballer of the Year while the hurling award has gone to Kilkenny's Michael Fennelly.
The awards are the second won by both, with Brogan and Fennelly already winning the GPA/GAA Opel Player of the Year awards.
The Texaco Awards are one of the most prestigious in Irish Sport and are in their 54th year.
Pat Spillane was chosen as the Hall of Fame award winner. A quarter of a century ago Spillane collected the Texaco Sportstar for Gaelic Football for the second time, having been honoured previously in 1978.
