Cody gives his blessing to club games

Kilkenny manager Brian Cody
Brian Cody has given the green light to a full round of Kilkenny club championship fixtures taking place this weekend.
Despite having already lost Henry Shefflin and John Tennyson to injury, Cody is happy for the games, which will involve most of his inter-county squad, to go ahead just three weeks before the All-Ireland hurling final.
"I'm perfectly happy to see the county players play with their clubs this weekend," he said.
"In fact, I believe it's good for them to go back to their clubs and get in a game before getting down to work preparing for the All-Ireland final.
"It has stood to us well in the past. It's the clubs who provide the county with the players, not the other way around. Clubs are entitled to a good spread of games. Anyway, players can get injured in training as easily as in games whether at county or club level."
