Repeat of 2008 hurling semi-final pairings
27 July 2010This year's semi-finals in the GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championships will be a repeat of the 2008 pairings with defending champions, Kilkenny taking on Cork on Sunday week while Waterford will play Tipperary on Sunday, August 15.
Kilkenny were nine-point winners (1-23 to 0-17) winners over Cork in 2008 while Waterford had two points to spare (1-20 to 1-18) over Tipperary in the other semi-final.
Kilkenny will be appearing in the semi-finals for the 14th successive year. Cork return to the semi-finals, having missed out last year. Tipperary are in the semi-final for the third successive year while Waterford are in the semi-final for a fifth successive season.
Tipperary clinched a place in the semi-final with a one point win (3-17 to 3-16) over Galway in a very exciting quarter-final in Croke Park on Sunday while Cork had nine points to spare over Antrim (1-25 to 0-19).
