Milton defends ticket prices
11 July 2010GAA Communications manager Alan Milton has defended championship match ticket prices.
There has been calls for the prices to be reduced given the fact that so many supporters follow their county week in, week out during the summer, but Milton pointed to the fact that Croke Park has not increased their prices for a few years now.
"I can understand people's concerns during the current economic circumstances, but the fact is that we have not raised ticket prices in five years," stressed Milton.
"Everyone knows that the GAA is not a profit making organisation and that 80% of ticket sales is put back into the development of the games. We don't believe that games are overpriced.
"It was 20 euro into Croke Park to see Saturday's doubleheader, which is very good value, while we have also assembled family packs and other packages for supporters that could be on the road a lot, particularly if their county has a run in the qualifiers."
