Mulrooney calls for improvement

Kilkenny U21 manager Richie Mulrooney
Kilkenny minor hurling manager wants his players to further up their game after yesterday's emphatic 1-20 to 0-10 over Dublin in the Leinster final.
The Cat impressed in their disposal of the Dubs at Croke Park, but Mulrooney believes that the same performance the next day out would not guarantee their passage to an All-Ireland final.
"It's very difficult to play a team you've played before in this year's championship but I thought our first-half performance was very good even though we should have added to our goals tally.
"However, I wasn't happy with our second-half performance, and we'll discuss that in the privacy of the dressing-room. Certainly a repeat of that performance wouldn't be good enough to win an All-Ireland semi-final."
Mulrooney did hail the performance of centre-forward Ger Aylward, who pucked 0-5 from play to help down the John Murphy's charges.
"Ger is a fine hurler, and he's especially dangerous when he takes a direct approach for goal," added the Kilkenny boss.
