Leinster MHC: Cats cruise to title

July 04, 2010
Kilkenny 1-20
Dublin 0-10

Kilkenny hurling flexed its muscle at Croke Park again by delivering another provincial crown to their cabinet at Dublin's expense in the form of the ESB Leinster MHC title.

The game was up for the men for the capital perhaps as early as the 17th minute when Thomas O'Hanrahan's goal sent the Cats into a 1-6 to 0-2 lead.

John Power was denied a second goal for Kilkenny soon afterwards after a brilliant parry from Dublin goalkeeper Eamonn Dillon, but the resultant '65' was fired over by Power and further points from Ger Aylward, Kevin Kelly, Padraig Walsh and Ollie Walsh putting the defending champions 1-11 to 0-4 in front at half-time.

Dublin lifted their game after the restart, with John Hetherton's frees taking some blemish off the scoreboard before Power and Aylward put it back on and sealed Kilkenny's third title in-a-row.
