Cody: it's a squad effort

Kilkenny manager Brian Cody
The likes of Tommy Walsh and Henry Shefflin may take most of the plaudits when it comes to Kilkenny's success, but Brian Cody has stressed that it takes the effort of a full panel to be successful.
Shefflin broke the all time championship record during the comfortable win over Dublin the Leinster semi final last weekend, while Walsh is the current hurler of the year.
However, Cody is in no doubt that the county's success is down to the effort of all the players on the panel and he pointed to that hunger among the players as the main driving force behind this current side.
"If we don't realise that we are totally dependent on our panel, not just 15 players, we will be in trouble. That can't change. If that changes you are gone," said Cody.
"The mood is there with everybody. Those who are in the panel are privileged to be in the panel. All of us are privileged to be involved. But we have to get the best out of ourselves, all of us, to make it worthwhile."
