Kilkenny fans urged to go and enjoy free show

Kilkenny chairman Paul Kinsella has called on Cats fans to travel to Semple Stadium this Sunday and enjoy the "free show".

Kilkenny supporters were left disappointed on two separate occasions at the end of last month when they made the trip to Thurles in anticipation of their team's National Hurling League opener against last year's All-Ireland final opponents Tipperary, but were denied their game twice due to heavy snowfall at the Tipperary venue.

While Mr Kinsella felt it was "wrong" to try and have the game under lights in the first place, he also agreed that the right decision was taken to call off the game on both occasions.

Now he is looking forward to something similar to the epic that these two teams produced last year and has urged supporters in the county to come along as admission to the game is at an unbeatable price.

"Kilkenny fans are lucky in that they get the chance to enjoy seeing their county in a lot of big games, but they always have to dig into their pockets to see them. Here is the chance of a free show, so I hope they take advantage of it," said Mr Kinsella.
