Kilkenny's Richie Power evades Cork's Ronan Curran
Kilkenny ace Richie Power could return to action as soon as this Sunday after getting the all clear from what was first feared as a serious neck injury in last weekend's win over Offaly.
The Cats attacker was taken from Nowlan Park in an ambulance after being involved in a nasty clash and initial fears were that the Carrickshock man had done serious damage to his neck, but those fears were thankfully allayed after he was released from hospital that night.
Power could now well be selected to play against Tipperary this Sunday in the eagerly-awaited Division One clash at Semple Stadium, although Kilkenny boss Brian Cody is not set to make a call on his team selection until later in the week.
"He's okay," Kilkenny selector, Martin Fogarty told the Irish Star. "He was stunned for a while and he was taken to hospital as a precaution - you can't take a chance with that type of injury.
"I don't know if he will be able to play at the weekend. We will have to see how he's doing during the week."
