Leinster IHC: Dunne goal crucial for Cats

Substitute Cathal Dunne's 38th minute goal proved decisive as All-Ireland champions Kilkenny overcame Dublin in last night's Leinster IHC semi-final at Nowlan Park.

With Paul Garbutt in fine scoring form, the visitors led by 0-8 to 0-6 at half-time and they extended their advantage just after the restart through senior star Ross O'Carroll, who was making his first hurling appearance of the year after injury.
O'Carroll tagged on two further points before the game's took a decisive turn in Kilkenny's favour when Dunne fired past Alan Nolan after being set up by Niall Kennedy.
Paul Murphy's third point brought the Cats level with 10 minutes remaining, and they made sure of victory with two late points from Joe Farrell and another from substitute Eddie Hickey.
