St Patrick's 2-8 Lisdowney 0-12 First-half goals from Ger Staunton and John Holland saw St Patrick's (Ballyragget) gain a narrow win over Lisdowney in the Northern junior hurling 'B' league at Ballyragget last weekend. Staunton got the winners off to a perfect start inside three minutes when a lapse in the Lisdowney defence let the wing forward in on goal. The points of John Bergin and Ciaran Mackey saw Lisdowney draw level but by the half-time whistle the hosts were leading, 2-4 to 0-8, thanks to Holland's goal five minutes from the break. Bergin cut the difference down to one a minute into the restart, but points from Sean Mooney, Ger Staunton and Niall Staunton always kept St Pat's just in front as they clung on for both points in the end.
