Delaney has no worries over Tullamore's capacity

O'Connor Park Tullamore
Leinster Council secretary Michael Delaney is confident that O'Connor Park's 20,000 capacity will comfortably cater for the attendance expected for Saturday week's historic Leinster SHC semi-final between Kilkenny and Galway. When Kilkenny and Galway last met in a stand-alone fixture in Thurles in the 2004 All-Ireland qualifiers, a crowd of 23,051 turned up, but despite the obvious appeal of the game, Delaney is predicting an attendance of no more than 15,000. "Kilkenny supporters haven't tended to travel to Leinster semi-finals in big numbers in recent years and Galway support hasn't been all that great either. I know there will be bigger interest in this game, but we still expect O'Connor Park to be plenty big enough to cater for the crowd," the Laois native said. Tullamore will also host this Sunday's Leinster SFC quarter-final between Westmeath and Wicklow which could draw a crowd of about 10,000.
