Carlow will be well represented at Sunday’s All-Ireland SHC final between Kilkenny and Tipperary.

This weekend’s showcase final will be preceded by the minor decider between Galway and Kilkenny with match referee being Ballinkillen’s Patrick Murphy.

In the senior clash, Palatine’s Paud O’Dwyer will be the stand-in referee and linesman making it a proud day for the county.

Murphy admitted to the Carlow Nationalist that he felt he had a good chance of being awarded the minor final, but added that you can never take anything for granted.

“You would get feedback on how things were going,” said Murphy. “From the start of the year you would be advised that you are in with a good shout of getting the minor final this year. Just keep your head down, do whatever games come your way, keep focused and keep training.”
