Brian Cody will continue as Kilkenny senior hurling manager in 2019.

Having taken over the Cats in 1999, the 11-time All-Ireland winner guided the county to a National Hurling League title in the season just gone and took Galway to a replay in the Leinster final before exiting the championship at the hands of eventual champions Limerick,

Cody, who is closing in in the 23-year managerial record of Meath's Sean Boylan, was ratified at a county board meeting tonight and will have the same backroom team - with Derek Lyng and James McGarry continuing as selectors with Michael Dempsey as trainer.
