Kilkenny's Darragh Joyce is set to make his AFL debut for St. Kilda this weekend.

The Rower-Inistioge clubman, who captained the Cats to an All-Ireland minor hurling title four years ago, has been included in the St. Kilda squad for their Round 15 clash with Melbourne at the world-famous MCG.

"In exciting news for Saints fans, Darragh Joyce's years' worth of hard work have paid off as the Irishman runs out in the red, white and black for the first time on Sunday," the team news statement read.

"Joyce earns his debut on the back of a string of impressive VFL performances, and the 21-year-old 194cm defender comes in for the omitted Logan Austin."

Joyce, whose older brother Kieran is a four-time Liam MacCarthy Cup winner, joined St. Kilda along with Westmeath's Ray Connellan in 2016 after first coming to their attention in the colours of Good Counsel, New Ross and then at an AFL Draft Combine held by Kerry's Tadhg Kennelly.
