Kildare midfielder Daniel Flynn has played down his outstanding goal against Westmeath last Sunday.

Flynn ran all the way through from midfield, before slamming the ball to the back of the net, in what will be one of the goals of the year.

However, the towering midfielder stressed to the Kildare Nationalist that he was 'happy enough' with his goal.

"It just opened up," said a modest Flynn. "I just kicked it and it went in. Cian O'Donoghue's was very good as well but I was happy enough.

Kildare entertain Offaly in the National League Division 3 at Newbridge next Sunday and Flynn admits that they need to continue their winning ways.

"It's great to take the two points, but we have Offaly next and that is going to be another battle again."
