A disgruntled club delegate in Kildare has demanded to know what the story is on Jason Ryan's future as senior football manager.

Ryan is set to sit down with the Kildare GAA board in the next week or so to discuss his future, but initial signs suggest that he will not be offered another term in the position.

Relegation from the league and a 27-point defeat to Kerry in the All-Ireland SFC quarterfinal have left many Kildare supporters calling for a change.

County Board chairman Ger Donnelly stated to club delegates at last week's monthly meeting that they would be meeting with Ryan in the coming days to discuss the year gone by.

However, the first question from a club delegate was: "So you don't have a letter of resignation from Jason Ryan."

Donnelly confirmed that he did not but stressed that it was important to let the dust settle on the matter before making any rash decisions.

"Everybody involved in the match are human beings, they all have families. The players are all Kildare people, we have to give them a bit of time to get this out of their system. If we just go straight away when emotions are high, we are just doing it because we feel we have to do it."
