Kellaghan remains grounded

Athy manager Pascal Kellaghan was not getting carried away by his side's demolition of Sarsfields in the Kildare SFC.

A 2-14 to 1-06 win over the Newbridge side has sent out a warming to their rivals after just one game in this year's championship.

However, Kellaghan was remaining calm following the win and stressed to the Kildare Nationalist that nothing was won yet.

"In terms of performance, we just wanted to see if we could put it up to Sarsfields," said the former Offaly footballer.

"I think they are probably not as cranked up as they will be later in the year but just to get a win is very positive for the group.

"But listen, nothing is won or lost. We knew coming here that our season wouldn't be defined by this game and Sarsfields are something similar, they are a huge club and I'm sure they will bounce back."
