Hackett: Better team won

April 22, 2015

Kildare minor manager Brendan Hackett accepts that his young charges were beaten by the better side in their Leinster MFC clash against Louth.

The Wee County caused something of a surprise by defeating a side that had reached the last two provincial finals.

However, Hackett stressed to the Leinster Leader that his side just didn't win enough of the ball to get the scores that they needed.

"On the day, Louth were the better team and you have to say the worked harder; tackled harder and at the end of the day that was what got them the result," said Hackett.

"We didn't have enough attacks in the second half, we only had 14 attacks with that wind, we had more attacks in the first half but we simply overdid it and didn't get the ball in; there was a good forward line inside but not enough ball went into them."
