Celbridge 2 - 14 Monastereven 3 - 07

These 2 teams reached this Final undefeated, so the prospect  for a very exciting Final was expected.
Celbridge started the brightest and fastest, their defence was well organised and the ball was moved quickly up to the forward line, Celbridge raced into an early lead of 05-01. Each team fought hard for possession and by halftime the score was Celbridge 0-10 Monastereven 0-03.

In the second half  Celbridge again started the fastest and scored a quick Goal and a pt. The Celbridge defence held firm and with quick breaks and speedy passage of play with 15mins to go Celbridge had a 13pt lead.
Monastereven made a lot of positional changes and took the game to Celbridge and with 2 quick goals the lead was now down to 7pts, Monastereven were attacking in force and then in the dying seconds were awarded a penalty and scored, now with only a gap of 4pts Celbridge were delighted to hear the fulltime whistle, and were crowned Minor Div 2A Champions.

This was a game played at a very fast pace and with some great skill on display.
Well done to both teams for an exciting game, and also to Hawkfield for providing a pitch in perfect condition considering the amount of rain over the previous few days.
