Moorefield manager Luke Dempsey has received words of advice from Kerry All-Ireland winning manager Jack O'Connor in advance of Sunday's Kildare SFC final versus Sarsfields.

O'Connor's sons, Eanna and Cian, joined the Lilywhite champions at the end of last year and he has helped out with training sessions during the course of the year.

"I spoke to Jack before Christmas and he was wondering would they be welcome and it was a question that didn't need thinking about," Dempsey explained to The Irish Independent.

"Sometimes when a Kerry footballer pops up somewhere there is excitement whether he is any good or not. That isn't the case here. They are great lads and football addicts."

Dempsey and Moorefield will be hoping to repeat their final win of 12 months ago against Kildare's most successful club.

"Certainly we'll have to pull up our socks and perform much better than we did in the semi-final.

"But knowing the Moorefield spirit, I think they'll do that."
