McManamon eyes Leinster club run

October 01, 2014

Straffan manager Kieran McManamon is confident that the side can put a run together in the Leinster club junior football championship.

A 2-12 to 0-06 win over Castlemitchell in last Sunday's county final has earned Straffan the right to represent the county in Leinster.

And McManamon is confident that the players will recharge the batteries ahead of the Leinster campaign and give it a good go.

"The last time we played in Leinster, we were knocked out in the opening round by the Meath champions who actually went on to win Leinster but hopefully we can go better this time but it is great to win here, I think we fully deserved it and now, after a few days celebration, we will gather again and prepare for our Leinster challenge."
