Past experiences aid Kildare

Kildare manager Jason Ryan believes that past experiences in the championship helped them over the line against Clare.

The Lilywhites were pushed to the pin of their collar against the Banner at Ennis last Saturday evening and were it not for a late flurry of scores, they would have been dumped out of the qualifiers.

However, they sneaked through by the narrowest of margins and Ryan states in the Leinster Leader they have learned the hard way that you play for the full 70 minutes.

"We have learned when we played Tyrone and lost a five-point lead with minutes remaining that a game is never over until it's over," said Ryan.

He added: I'm extremely proud of the players, they really showed the wanted to win it and they did in the second half."
