Kildare referee Brendan Cawley is determined to go all the way to the top.

In an in-depth interview with the Kildare Nationalist, the 26-year-old admits that refereeing an All-Ireland final is his ultimate goal.

"Any referee at this level does have ambitions of going to an All-Ireland final. I think I am in a very good position. I have youth on my side and there is no limit to my ambition," said Cawley. "My ambition is definitely to get to the top and to referee an All-Ireland final."

Cawley has already refereed minor, junior and intermediate championship finals in Kildare, while at provincial level he has refereed schools and club.
