Well done to the Kildare minor camogie team who comprehensively beat Laois 5-14 to 0-04 in the All-Ireland semi-final last Friday, the face Armagh in the final next Saturday. Well done also to the Kildare senior hurlers who beat Mayo 1-23 to 0-15 in the first round of the Christy Ring cup on Saturday, they will face Meath in Newbridge next Saturday @4.15pm in round two. The Kildare minor hurlers also had an excellent 3-14 to 3-12 win over Carlow last Saturday to set up a quarter final game with the mighty Kilkenny on 18 May in Newbridge. The Kildare senior camogs were beaten by Limerick (2-15 to 0-10) in the Division 2 final last Sunday.
Celbridge senior footballers play Naas on Sunday in Clane @3.30pm in the first round of the football championship, best of luck to all involved. The senior hurlers had a good 3-10 to 0-18 win over local rivals Ardclough last Tuesday while the Intermediates drew 0-12 to 1-09 with Naas on Thursday. The senior camogie team were beaten 1-07 to 1-05 yesterday evening in the league and will head to St. Laurences next Monday knowing that a win will see them into the league final. The senior B football team are at home to Sarsfields next Monday evening @7.30pm while the third team are also at home to Carbury at the same time. The ladies footballers have won both their outings this year beating Rheban 1-09 to 0-07 and Rathangan 0-25 to 0-02. The U-14 footballers are at home to Gearr Dubh on Wednesday evening @7pm.
Cycle
Following on from our meeting to discuss this fund raising cycle event we propose holding our next meeting on next Thursday 9th at 8.30pm in GAA Club. It is proposed that this meeting will decide on the date of the cycle and have other important issues finalized. It is important that as many people as possible attend and representatives of all codes are invited to send some representation.
