Leinster MHC: Dempsey leads Kildare to victory

May 06, 2013
Kildare ran out 3-14 to 3-12 winners over Carlow in their Leinster MHC clash at Dr Cullen Park.

Corner forward Evan Dempsey took the scoring plaudits for the Lilywhites with 2-2 while Eoin O'Hehir chipped in with seven points.

After trailing by ten at the interval (2-9 to 0-5), Carlow fought back courageously in the second half but Dempsey's second goal on 47 minutes ended any hopes of a remarkable come back from the home side.

Conor Foley and Neil Cogan netted late on for Carlow but it was Kildare who march on to play Kilkenny for a place in the semi finals.
