Kildare veteran Johnny Doyle has returned to the squad for another campaign.

This will be Doyle's 14th season in the Kildare jersey having made his championship debut against Louth in 2000.

Doyle admitted to the Kildare Nationalist that he is eager to get back into action, although he stressed that he wasn't sure how much he has left to offer the team.

"I'm enjoying the training at the moment and it's going well. Hopefully things will go well for me and I'll stay injury free and you never know, I might have a small bit to offer in the New Year please God," said Doyle.

Kildare begin their competitive season on Sunday when they host Carlow IT in the O'Byrne Cup at Newbridge.
