Croke Park has once again decided that Seanie Johnston cannot transfer to St Kevin's and Kildare.

The request has been with the Central Competitions Control Committee on a number of occasions as the Cavan player attempts to switch allegiance to the Lilywhites.

The most recent transfer request was discussed by the CCCC this week and KFM Radio revealed that Kildare and the player were informed this morning that the transfer had been refused on two grounds - residency and ethos.

Johnston, who was with the Kildare squad when they won the recent Allianz Division 2 title at Croke Park, must under the new rule passed at Congress play in the Kildare club championships before he can line out for Kieran McGeeney's side.

Those championship take place this weekend and it is now expected that Johnston will launch an immediate appeal.
