Clane GAA Notes

Bingo has returned to Clane GAA after a number of years on Tuesday nights in the club @ 8.30pm. The Jackpot is now @ €1,550 and there will also be many Cash Prizes each week. All Welcome!
The 1st round of the Senior Football Championship takes place this coming Sunday 20th May. Clane have got Round Towers with a throw-in time of 2.30pm in St Conleth's Park in Newbridge. Please support.
Congratulations to the Minor Hurlers who beat Eire Og in the league final in Hawkfield on Friday night last. The hurling played at times would grace any pitch and it was a joy to watch.
The Senior Footballers & Hurlers have commenced their league campaigns in great fashion. The footballers have played 6 games in Division 1 winning 5 and loosing 1. The last game was against Monasterevin on Wednesday last which resulted in a 2 point victory away to Monasterevin. They now play Moorefield this coming Sunday 13th @ 3pm in Clane. Meanwhile the Senior hurlers have played 4 games also in Division1 having won 2 and drew 1 game and lost 1. Their last game was a 7 point loss to Leixlip - our lads were missing several players due to exams and county commitments.. Please come along to both of the team's matches as they are putting in great performances and deserve the support.
The u14 Football leagues start this coming Wednesday 16th May and we have two teams competiting. The A team will compete in division 1 and the B team will compete in Div6 - best of luck lads! The fixtures have yet to be released. The U16 football league is now finished and they are now looking forward to the championship after the exams. The Minor footballers lost out on a league final place and are now preparing for their championship which starts after the exams.
The Feile Hurlers competed in the Feile A Hurling competition and came up short despite playing great hurling. The lads will now drop back to div2 for the league which is starting shortly. The u16 hurlers qualified for the league final which is due to take place on Sunday 13th May against Eire Og in St Conleth's Park Newbridge this coming Sunday 13th May and the result can be seen in the sports results on the website.
Underage football & hurling training has now resumed. The Tiny Tots football is on Saturday mornings in the Scoil Mhuire Community School Hall at 10.30am with the rest of the smaller underage football groups are up in the Boys School on Friday nights @ 6.45pm. The underage hurlers are up in the club at the usual time on Wednesday nights.
Congratulations to the U10 boys community games team who qualified for the county final beating Kilcock on Tuesday night last. The lads now take on a very strong Maynooth team in the final on Mon 14th or Tuesday 15th in Maynooth.
Best of luck to the u16 camogie team who will compete in the county final this Sunday 13th @ 4pm in Donore. They will play either Larries or Athy.
Many thanks to all that supported the Abbey Players Pantomine Group who performed in the club on Friday week last in aid of the Boys School, Girls School & Clane GAA. It was a great evening enjoyed by all.

Remember if you are a player and have not paid by 31st March, you will not be covered by insurance. New members always welcome.
