Padraig Fogarty of Kildare
Kildare manager Kieran McGeeney has heaped praise on teenage star Padraig Fogarty.
The St Laurence's clubman kicked three points when sprung from the bench in the second half of the division 2 final win over Tyrone at Croke Park last Sunday.
The 19-year-old was outstanding when introduced and McGeeney stressed to the Kildare Nationalist that his work rate in the last few weeks have been immense.
"He had a fantastic game against Offaly for the under-21s, he was probably head and shoulders above everybody that day, himself and Eoin Doyle," said McGeeney.
"He had been pushing hard in training and has stepped up on a few fronts. He has shown us that he can take frees and 50s just in case we might put somebody else on that could do it.
"He has been pushing hard in the last couple of weeks and we would have seen that. I'm glad for him, and definitely glad for us, that he produced on the day."
