Fixtures/Results
Congratulations to both Hugh McGrillen and Ollie Lyons who were instrumental in Kildare's Division 2 league success on Sunday, beating Tyrone by 0-16 to 0-11. Also well done to the five Celbridge girls who were part of the Kildare camogie team that beat Laois 1-10 to 0-08 in the first round of the Leinster championship. Best of luck to the Fiachra O'Muineachain led Kildare hurlers who head to Derry, (Celtic Park @2.30pm) next Saturday for the first round of the Christy Ring Cup. Celbridge have nine representatives on the panel.
The Féile hurlers booked their place at the National finals in Dublin (5-7 July), with a superb team display at a wet and windy St. Conleth's Park on Sunday evening defeating the "ould enemy" Naas by 1-07 to 1-02. Well done to Tim O'Regan and all involved with this squad. Well done also to the minor footballers who also defeated their arch rivals, Athy by 3-08 to 1-06 to capture a hat-trick of minor league titles. Congrats to Trevor O'Sullivan and everybody associated with this historic achievement. The senior footballers kept their 100% record with a hard fought 1-10 to 1-08 victory over county champions Athy last Saturday. As they have no league fixture this weekend they will entertain Parnell's from London in a challenge on Saturday @2.30pm. The senior hurlers who beat Leixlip last Tuesday 1-15 to 0-09, entertain Eire-Óg tonight @7.30pm. A very much under-strength senior camogie team were narrowly beaten 0-09 to 0-07 by Cappagh last night. The senior B footballers head to Maynooth tomorrow evening for their re-fixed game @7.15pm. The Intermediate hurlers host Maynooth on Thursday @7.30pm. The third team footballers are away to Sallins next Tuesday evening @7.30pm. The Féile B footballers had a fifteen point win over Sarsfields in their Shield final last week. The U-16 hurlers have a busy week ahead as they take on the combination of Confey/Kill/Ardclough tomorrow evening @7pm at an "away" venue. On Friday they head to Maynooth for a 7pm throw in while next Wednesday they are also away to Coill Dubh @7pm. Amazing that they have no home game but sure that's for the fixtures committee to decide. The U-16 "B" team are in action in the Division 6 league final next Monday when they take on Moorefield in Hawkfield @11am.
