McGeeney rues missed chances

Kildare manager Kieran McGeeney
Kieran McGeeney pointed to Kildare's missed chances after their Allianz League defeat to Tyrone in Croke Park on Saturday night.
"Four goal chances again, nine (shots) dropped short, I thought overall in footballing terms we were well in it, if not more in it than they were," the Kildare boss noted.
"But they had goal chances and put them away. We had four or five and didn't take any of them. That was disappointing."
Tyrone boss Mickey Harte, meanwhile, had much to be enthused about after his side's strong second half showing and Sean Cavanagh's earlier-than-expected return from injury.
"Three points in a half wasn't good enough and really won't win many games, but the turnaround in the second half I can't argue with, the players put in a big effort there," he said.
"They took to heart what we said at half-time that the standard wasn't good enough and it was really as good a second half performance as we had in a long time.
"It was encouraging the young players came in and held their own in HQ and I hope they like it."
