Cryan proud of charges
February 01, 2012
Kildare VS manager Declan Cryan hailed his players after the Leinster final win over Dublin.
The Lilywhites were pushed all the way by the Dubs, but an inspirational performance by Wayne Fitzpatrick, who scored 2-7 of his side's total, helped Kildare to provincial glory.
Cryan feels that the win will have a huge boost for Kildare football in general, while he also singled out Fitzpatrick for special praise.
"Overall, it was a great performance and I think it is a good boost for Kildare minors, they now know they can compete with these guys, you know Dublin Vocational Schools have really come on in recent years so I feel this could be a big boost for the minor team," Cryan stressed to the Leinster Leader.
"He (Fitzpatrick) was just awesome, it is not just from frees, he makes it look easy, makes time on the ball and is aware of the space."
