Congratulations to our own Ailish Heavey who has made it through the trials for this years Kildare U16 Ladies team and has now been confirmed to the panel for 2012. Well done Ailish from everyone in the club.

We're in the process of setting up an underage committee that will help in the running of our juvenile section in the club. Over the last number of years we've seen a huge increase in the number of children playing gaelic games in the club and we feel that an underage committee that will be focused in these age groups can only be of benifit to the club. We're going to have a meeting in the main hall on wed 25th January at 8pm. If you feel that you may have something to offer the club why not come down and meet with us. There will always be a role in the club for anyone who feels that they have something to offer.

Ballykelly held their underage presentation to their U12 Ladies division 1 winners and their U12 Boys Bord na Nog winners from 2011 on Friday evening. Many thanks to the many coaches who worked with these teams and also to all the players and their parents who always made sure the boys and girls were available for training and games. Thanks to Ronan Sweeney, Daryll Flynn and Donna Berry who took t...ime out from preparations with their respective teams to come down to present medals to all the players. Thanks to DJ Gavin for providing the music on the night as well. DJ Gavin will be returning to the clubhouse on the 10th February for another underage disco. Hope to see such a large turnout again.

Presentations to our successful 2011 u 12 boys and girls teams will take place next Friday night in the club house. There will also be a presentation to our u16 boys championship winning team which will take place in the coming weeks. Preparations are also under way for our senior ladies who captured the league title so an eventful few week is ahead of us.

The new season is upon us, our senior men commenced training this week and our senior ladies will begin their training programme in the next two weeks.Our underage section is preparing for the year ahead as the club will be appointing the mentors to our juvenile teams over the coming weeks. Arising out of our AGM the club will also be appointing a hall committee, field committee and an underage committee to cater for the every increasing demand on the clubs human and financial resources. The astroturf pitches are available for booking now for the winter months. There will be big demand for them now that the football season is just about over.If you would like a slot on the 5 a side pitches ring (085) 2486051 and the lads will be glad to look after you.

The hall in Ballykelly is now available for bookings. On Tuesdays from 10-12am,a mother, toddler and baby group use it contact Roseanne for more info. On Tuesday evening and Thursday morning its Pilates and Bodyball. If you are interested in this contact Eithne (086) 605 3081. Irish dancing is on every Thursday at 6pm. Classes are held by qualified registered teachers. Boys and girls from 3+ are welcome. Beginners, Intermediate and advanced are catered for. For more information contact Michelle.
