Johnston takes case to DRA

Cavan's Seanie Johnston
Seanie Johnston is bringing his intercounty transfer request to the Disputes Resolution Authority.
The Cavan Gaels clubman's case is unusual in that he wishes to transfer his intercounty allegiances from Cavan to Kildare while continuing to play his club football at home.
He is using a Kildare address in his correspondences with Croke Park and has asked his club to support his case before the DRA this week.
Johnston has been axed from the Breffni County panel but is understood to have held discussions with Kieran McGeeney regarding a potential switch to the Lilywhites:
"Any move to the DRA is a matter for the club now," he says in the Independent.
"I'm 27 now and I want to continue playing intercounty football but I don't want to leave my club. It's hugely important to me.
"But I'm resident in Kildare now and I'm surplus to requirements in Cavan. That much was clear from the ten-second conversation I had with the manager last October.
"But I still feel I have a lot to contribute at intercounty level. You only have short time at this level and I'd like to make it count."
