Ballymanus Notes
August 30, 2010
'Well at least we're not out of the championship!!.' That's about all you could say after the shambles that was our championship game against Avondale last weekend. Winning 2-4 to 2pts after ten minutes, you'd think that we'd cruise to victory. Ha, capitulation time more like. For the next 40 minutes we failed to register another score, allowing Avondale to nip away at our lead point by point. But for a converted free late in the second half, our year would have over, in both league and championship. The one positive that did emerge was that at least things can only get better. The lads however haven't long to get their shop in order as our final championship fixture is against Valleymount this Saturday evening. Again its do or die. The u17's had the weekend off after the tough win over An Tochar the weekend before last, but hopefully will be in action this weekend. There was no lotto jackpot winners in the last few weeks, with Joanne Stapleton & the Quigley family the only match three winners for the draw held Aug 23rd (5,6,12,23); Terry Doyle and Mary Lambert for the draw held Aug 16th (2,3,12,23) and Jim Keogh and Richie Byrne from the draw held Aug 9th (2,4,6,23). There lotto changeover takes place next week with John O'K, Terry D, Anne K, Agnes K, Margaret S, and Larry B taking charge for September.
