Callaghan counting on veteran pair's experience

Kildare's Eamon Callaghan
Eamonn Callaghan believes the experience Johnny Doyle and Dermot Earley bring to the Kildare team could prove decisive against Down on Sunday.
The veteran pair are the only survivors from the last Kildare team to play in an All-Ireland semi-final 10 years ago, although the evergreen Anthony Rainbow is also still part of the panel.
"Johnny and Dermot are huge players for us and they always contribute no matter what and even when Johnny doesn't kick the scores, he still works very hard, does Trojan work for the team," the Vodafone Player of the Month for July said.
"That's really the strength the two lads bring to it. No matter how badly they are playing they will always come back stronger.
"But we have players that can win games in other areas of the pitch. It's not only our forwards. We have played very well defensively this year. Peter Kelly coming in there corner back, his first year, flying, and we have plenty of lads that are well able to win games for us."
