Murphy praise for young Lilies

July 02, 2009
Kildare minor manager Brian Murphy was delighted with his players' application as they overcame Meath last weekend. The young Lilywhites prevailed in Navan to book a provincial final date with Dublin, and the Cork native and former Kildare star was delighted: "We asked for a huge effort, we asked for heart, we asked for commitment before the game even started. We're absolutely thrilled. "The game could have gone any way - there was only a kick of a ball in it. We're just delighted to have come out the right end of it. "We just asked them to play with the same commitment and heart that they've shown all year and they did that. "There's a lot of pride and a lot of commitment and they've a good team behind them as well. The likes of Denis Cronin and Mick Curley - they're working fierce hard to get them in the right frame of mind. "We just have a great team spirit going in the place. They didn't want to let that down - and there's a bit of pride in the jersey as well."
