McGeeney talks down winning margin

Kildare boss Kieran McGeeney
Kieran McGeeney insists that the margin of Kildare's runaway win over Laois is irrelevant.
The Lilywhites had twelve points to spare as they put the O'Moore County to the sword at Tullamore on Saturday night, but McGeeney believes the only thing that matters is the result - not the scoreline:
"The fact of the matter is you don't get anything extra for winning by a big margin.
"We got a run of it and we were ruthless and we pushed on and it's encouraging, but that's the only way you can look at that.
"You could play Laois tomorrow and get a different result, though, but the thing is when you get your chances you have to take them.
"Good teams do that - whether it's Tyrone, Galway, Dublin or Kerry. When they get on top they put away their scores and for us to try and compete with some of those teams that's what we have to do.
"We had the run last year in a couple of games and didn't take the scores when they were there, so that's encouraging."
