Going into todays game against Confey a number of equasions were available. With Ballykelly on 13 points in this championship and 2 games remaining they had to ensure victory as Confey were joint top with Athy on 19pts with 1 game left while Athy had finished thier programme. The Ballykelly girls put in an unbelievable performance to defeat Confey by 17pts. They were asked to give it everything to keep thier championship hopes alive,this they did in no uncertain manner. Confey have now,along with athy completed thier fixture schedule Ballykelly now have thier final game of this years championship on monday night at 6.00pm in Ballykelly and as corresponding fixtures are taken into account to decide the destination of the title,Ballykelly are now in pole position after beating both Athy and confey. A win against Suncroft on Monday will see Ballykelly crowned as under 14 champions for 2009
The senior men play their final match of the league campaign on Monday evening when they line out against suncroft in Ballykelly. Throw in 7.30 They have been working hard all year and have been in contention throughout the league. Victory would ensure promotion for the winners and a league final so its not to be missed
Well done to Ballykellys Pauric Cullen and the rest of the Kildare minor team on defeating Meath in the Leinster semi final. The final is fixed for the 12th of July against Dublin
Bookings are now being taken for this years CUL Camp which is returning to Ballykelly after a few years absence. The camp this year is going to be held in our new premises and will possibly be the first event to take place there, and such is the interest that places are going fast. Its being held from the 17th to the 21st of August which is a five day camp and is great value. The under 6s were in action on friday evening when Rathangan made the short trip over. 41 Children from Ballykelly togged in what was a most evjoyable evenings entertainment. Some stars of the future were on show for Ballykelly and much credit must go to u6 coaches Tony Kerins Brendan Lacey Catherine Wallace and lavina Connelly. Preparations are in full swing for the u8s trip to Croke park on wednesday. The u8s are due to play Colmcilles of Longford at 3pm. They've been working hard on their skills since the beginning of the year under the watchful eyes of their coaches Tommy Curran and David Kelly, and have played a lot of friendly matches in preparation for this and many thanks must must go to Kildare gaa for giving these children this oppertunity to play at gaa headquarters .Thanks to Ballykellys Derek Mccormack and Pauric Cullen for helping out in the training in the lead up to this Thanks must also go to Darran and Gillian Lawlor of Jack and Jade fashions for sponsering Tshirts for the day.Busses are leaving Ballykelly no later than 12.15 on wednesday so to ensure a place get there early.
The U10s finished their matches in division 2 section B on saturday when they defeated Ellistown and finished top of their group. This is the second year running that they've won this competition so a very well done must go out to these children. They are now promoted in Division 2 proper and this resumes on the 9th of July Well done to all.
The u12 girls came up short in the league final on Friday evening when they were defeated on a scoreline of Ballykelly 2.4 Ellistown 3.3.They can be very proud of their achievement though as this Ballykelly team is a very young team . Well done to Eoghin o Neill and Niamh Lawless for srcuring promotion with this group
The u12 boys left it late in the game but returned to winning ways in the 5th round of the league v Allenwood. Final score Ballykelly 4.4 Allenwood 2.8. Next up is a home tie v Castlemitchel on Tuesday evening.

The u14 boys wellcome St Patricks of Wicklow to the club on July 3rd for the first round of the National Feile in what promises to be a memorable occasion for these children. The u14 girls wellcome Clian Eirann from Lurgan in Co Armagh

The club have arranged an exibition game for the early part of July for our u8 squad which is been assembled at the moment,it will be played in Croke park and promises to be a memorable occasion .Training has resumed for this age group, so if you would like your child to particapate in this simply call down to the field on Friday nights.U8 and U6 matches are arranged every three weeks, the coaches have all completed the Foundation level coaching course and are currently awaiting a date for the ethics and good practice programme.
