St Kevin's GAA Club The senior team were beaten 0-13 to 0-7 by Kilcock last week, while the senior B team had a good 1-8 to 0-6 away win over Sarsfields in the league with good performances from Mark Grace, Trevor McDonald and Johnny Fitzharris.Their next game is at home to Maynooth next Monday. The under 14 team recorded a 1-18 to 1-7 win over St Laurence's last Wednesday in Staplestown to qualify for the divison 2 league semi final. They had fine performances from keeper Mark O' Connor, Kevin O' Brien, Ciaran McMahon and Conor Murray. Next weekend is a very important one for both the club and the county with the National Feile taking place. We extend a very warm welcome to our visitors Silverbridge Harps (Armagh) and we hope they enjoy their visit and return to the Orchard County with happy memories of their trip to Kildare. It is very important that we make our guests as welcome as we can. They arrive at 1pm on Friday and it would be great if as many possible could come to the clubhouse to welcome them. They play St Kevin's at 3pm.At 5pm following refreshments all will depart for the parade in Newbridge which will be attended by President McAleese.On returning to the clubhouse the Silverbridge contingent will be introduced to their host families. On Saturday in Staplestown the schedule is as follows :- 9.30am St Kevin's v St Peter's Dunboyne, 10.15am Castledermot v Silverbridge, 11am Skills competition (one player from the four clubs), 11.45 am St Kevin's v Castledermot, 12.30pm Silverbridge v St Peter's, 1.15pm lunch. The winner from the group will go forward to play the semi final at 6pm in Johnstownbridge.A meal will be served at 8pm for the players, parents and mentors for both St Kevin's and Silverbridge in Staplestown.Entertainment and music will follow. The finals take place in Newbridge on Sunday. Thanks to all who helped with the clean up in preparation for Feile last Thursday. It was very much appreciated. Congratulations to Secretary Alice Casey who won the Leinster team 25 competition run by the Leinster Council to choose the best Leinster team of the past 25 years. She wins a VIP day at the Leinster football final with overnight stay in Jury's Croke Park hotel and a set of jersey's for the club.
