The seniors continued their good form in the league with a 0-12 to 0-10 home win over Leixlip last Friday. The Senior B team also kept their good run going in the league when they beat Kill 2-11 to 1-7 last week in Staplestown.They play away to Ballyteague next Monday at 7.30pm in a back game.
While the under 14 team play their penultimate league game away to Castledermot this evening (Wed24) at 7.30pm.
Féile Peile na nÓg 2009 returns to Kildare for the first time in 21 years on the first weekend of July and will be the largest underage sporting competition of its kind in Europe this year. More than 30,000 boys and girls across the country and in overseas units have competed for a place in this year's finals, which will involve six divisions for boys and four for girls.
Clubs from visiting counties will enjoy the hospitality of Kildare's host clubs who will be represented by a combined total of 77 boys' and girls teams.St Kevin's have the honour of hosting the Armagh champions, Silverbridge Harps. It is very important that we make our guests as welcome as possible. They arrive at 1pm on Friday (July 3) and play St Kevin's at 3pm.At 5pm following refreshments all will depart for the parade in Newbridge which will be attended by President McAleese.On returning to the clubhouse the Silverbridge contingent will be introduced to their host families. On Saturday in Staplestown the schedule is as follows :- 9.30am St Kevin's v St Peter's Dunboyne, 10.15am Castledermot v Silverbridge, 11am Skills competition (one player from the four clubs), 11.45 am St Kevin's v Castledermot, 12.30pm Silverbridge v St Peter's, 1.15pm lunch. The winner from the group will go forward to play the semi final at 6pm in Johnstownbridge.A meal will be served at 8pm for the players, parents and mentors for both St Kevin's and Silverbridge in Staplestown.Entertainment and music will follow. The finals take place in Newbridge on Sunday.
