Kavanagh: We're not getting ahead of ourselves

Kildare's James Kavanagh
Kildare attacker James Kavanagh says his team will not be getting ahead of themselves before they meet Laois in the semi-finals of this year's Leinster SFC next Saturday week. The Liliywhites have been tipped as the side to stop Dublin's dominance of the province this summer, but Kavanagh believes that they have proved nothing yet, after defeating two teams which were out of sorts in the past National Football League campaign. "We're not going to get ahead of ourselves. We can't. We know the Offaly team had interruptions during the league and this Wexford team weren't at much in the league so we're not sure what we've beat," said Kavanagh. "We're definitely not going to get carried away. We have two weeks now to prepare for the next game and we're just going to work hard for one week and ease up for the other. "Confidence is high but, like I said, we're definitely not going to get carried away and if there's one man that will keep our feet on the ground that is Kieran McGeeney. There is no worries about complacency going into the next match." Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Kildare's minor footballers will face Meath in the Leinster semi-final at Pairc Tailteann, Navan at 2.00pm, while the seniors throw-in at the later time of 7.00pm against Laois.
