Quartet get chance to revive Kildare careers
November 21, 2008
Forgotten men Mark Hogarty, Ross Glavin, Tomas O'Connor and Martin Donnelly will hope to earn recalls to the Kildare football squad when they attend trials this weekend.
The quartet will attend the first of a series of trials organised by Kildare manager Kieran McGeeney at St. Conleth's Park on Saturday. McGeeney has stated his intention to add 10 players from the trials to his existing panel and these four are expected to come into the reckoning.
Hogarty was the highest profile casualty of McGeeney's debut season, having established himself in defence in the previous two campaigns. O'Connor and Donnelly also featured under previous manager John Crofton, while Glavin was given his debut by Padraig Nolan in 2004, but hasn't figured in recent campaigns.
